To define regular and special holidays to be observed by the Company and to set policy in payment for work rendered on such holidays.
This policy shall apply to all team members who belong to Job Grades 1-2 and temporary employment status.
3.1 The following are considered regular holidays in the Philippines:
New Year - January 1
Maundy Thursday - Movable Date
Good Friday - Movable Date
Araw ng Kagitingan - April 9
Labor Day - May 1
Independence Day - June 12
National Heroes Day - Last Sunday of August
Bonifacio Day - November 30
Eidul Fitr - Movable Date
Eidul Adha - Movable Date
Christmas Day - December 25
Rizal Day - December 30
3.2 The following are considered special holidays in the Philippines:
Chinese New Year - Movable Date (upon announcement by Philippine Government)
Ninoy Aquino Day - August 21 (RA 9256)
All Saints Day - November 1
Last Day of the Year - December 31
3.3 Some unscheduled Special Non-Working Holidays may be declared by the Philippine Government.
3.4 Pursuant to existing labor laws, all team members shall be paid their regular daily wage for any unworked Regular and Special Holidays such as Special Non-Working Day, Special Public Holiday or Special National Holiday.
3.5 For work rendered during holidays, premium pay shall be computed as per Labor Law.
3.6 As per Labor Code Provision under Section 6, Rule IV, Book III, Rules to Implement the Labor Code, if on leave of absence without pay on the day immediately preceding a regular holiday may not be paid the required holiday pay if he has not worked on such regular holiday.
3.7 For Special Working Holiday, an employee is entitled only to his basic rate. No premium pay is required since work performed on a said day is considered an ordinary working day.
3.8 Flexi-Holiday Scheme
3.8.1 This scheme refers to one where the employees agree to avail a Philippine holiday on another date provided there is no diminution of benefits as result of this arrangement.
3.8.2 These team members sign an agreement indicating the specific Philippine holidays that is offset with the client’s holidays.
3.8.3 Team members who observe the holidays of their respective client swap such holiday with a Philippine holiday.
3.9 It shall be the responsibility of HR-ER Team, in close coordination with F&A Team, to implement this policy effectively.
7.1 HR-ER Team prepares the annual Flexi-Holiday Schedule at the beginning of each year.
7.2 HR-ER Team tags the respective holidays in myPayroll System.
7.3 HR-ER prepares and releases the Flexi-Holiday Schedule Letter to each affected team member.
7.4 HR-ER keeps a signed copy of the Flexi-Holiday Schedule Letter to the respective 201 file and gives a copy to the team member.
7.5 When another country’s holiday does not have an offset with a Philippine Holiday, the Team member files an electronic holiday OT form.
7.6 Primary approvers approve the filing online.
7.7 Secondary Approvers approve the filing in the absence of the primary approver.
7.8 F&A Team ensures the holiday OT filing is paid.
