Special Leave Benefit
1. What is “Special Leave for Women”?
means a female leave entitlement of two (2) months (means 60 calendar days) with full pay from the employer based on her gross monthly compensation following surgery caused by gynecological disorders, provided that she has rendered at least six (6) months continuous aggregate employment service of at least six (6) months for the last twelve (12) months prior to surgery.
2. What are gynecological disorders?
Gynecological disorders refer to disorders that would require surgical procedures such as dilatation and curettage and those involving female reproductive organs such as vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, breast, adnexa and pelvic floor. Gynecological surgeries shall also include hysterectomy, ovariectomy, and mastectomy.
3. How do I apply for the Special Leave for Women?
- Please provide the following requirements:
- filled out ML/LOA form to be submitted by the employee’s direct supervisor to as a ticket here.
- medical certificate filled out by the proper medical authorities (e.g. attending surgeon/physician) together with the following:
- clinical summary reflecting the gynecological disorder which shall be addressed or was addressed by the said surgery
- the histopathological report
- the operative technique used for the surgery
- the duration of the surgery including the peri‐operative period (period of confinement around surgery) the employee’s estimated period of recuperation
- Fit to work clearance
- Send all requirements as a ticket here.
- Applicable leave credits will be credited to the employee's payroll profile for filing
- The finance team will process and send confirmation regarding the crediting of the leave benefit
