Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on Vaccination

Vaccines for Team Members

Can/Will IO purchase vaccines to be sure that our Team Members (TMs) get vaccinated?

Infinit-O has decided, under the supervision of the leadership team, to provide vaccines to all our employees, regardless of their status. IO will be purchasing Moderna vaccines and they should be made available to our TMs starting from Q3 2021.

Are the vaccines safe?

Many studies and various governmental administrations around the world have validated and green lighted the vaccines that we are looking at acquiring. We know the vaccines are safe, are saving lives and protect the receiver from critical forms of the virus as well as other strains. To be effective, one vaccine requires two injections, separated by 3 to 4 weeks.

Does the vaccine mean that we can do away with masks and distancing?

Even these very effective vaccines won’t provide full protection from COVID-19 for every person who is inoculated. Therefore, we’ll need to continue to follow guidelines to decrease the risk of spread, including masks, distancing, limiting employee density, limiting travel and improving ventilation, barriers and procedures that limit close and sustained contact. IO has played an important role in protecting all of you, your families and communities through these measures. Some pandemic precautions, including staying home when sick and better handwashing, could help us decrease illness in future influenza seasons, or if COVID-19 continues to circulate at low levels.

If I opt not to take the vaccine is there any impact to my HMO coverage?

None, since the vaccine procured was not coursed through our HMO provider. Further, vaccines are considered as prescribed OPD medicines which are not covered.

Would vaccination be provided in conjunction with our HMO?

None, since the vaccine procured was not coursed through our HMO provider. Further, vaccines are considered as prescribed OPD medicines which are not covered.

Would the status of vaccination be shared with our HMO?

No, since the vaccine procured was not coursed through our HMO provider and since vaccines are optional on the account of the member.

Would treatment for any vaccination side effects be covered by our HMO?

The adverse effect(s) that may arise from Covid-19 vaccination will not be covered since these are still under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) only. In the event that the vaccines administered would no longer be via EUA and would already have FDA approval, the coverage for the adverse reaction(s) will be the same for other vaccines and medication. As a gesture of goodwill, Cocolife Care will cover consultations for allergic reactions from Covid 19 vaccination.

Vaccines for Registered Dependents

Can I purchase vaccines from you to vaccinate my family?

As of today, the existing guidelines regulating the purchase of vaccines for private companies only authorize them to get vaccines for their employees, but not their family, friends or other dependents. We are not allowed to resell vaccines either.

Can people still register dependents for vaccination by IO?

They may send an email to wellness@infinit-o.com with the information about their dependents. There is however no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate more vaccination requests anymore for dependents.
